Other Level 3 Courses

Level 2 Courses:

What is an ‘AS’, ‘A2’ and A Level course?

‘AS’ is the first year of the old full ‘A’ Level course and represents  2 units of work. To complete the full ‘A Level’ course you will need to complete a second  year and take 4 units - 2 ‘AS’ and 2 ‘A2’. The marks from AS contribute to the final grade. If you leave after the 2 unit course,  you will have completed the ‘AS’ and gain a discrete qualification.

In the new A Levels, the AS and A Level are separate  qualifications; the AS is a one year course and A Level taking two years. The marks from the AS course do not contribute to the A Level course.
