Our School

Excellent Grades Awarded to our hard-working Students.

Our students opened their A Level and Btec results today; results that they have worked very hard for. It should not be forgotten that this is the first full exam series the year 13 students have sat since they were in year 6 as a result of the school closures that saw their own GCSE's disrupted. Therefore, it should not be forgotten how hard every student has worked alongside their teachers and KS5 team.

Today's excellent results can be reflected in the record number of applications to university this year and with the vast majority of students gaining their first-choice place at one of the country’s top universities. Mrs Whitson-Jones, Head of Sixth Form, and the team are hugely proud to see the students receive their first choice of university places. Most importantly, every student now takes the next steps in their own bright future in such a range of career paths that our students have chosen to follow. These include Pharmacy, Journalism, Performing Arts and Engineering.  There have also been some excellent apprenticeships accepted in Nursing, Law and Finance. Each student has worked so hard to follow their personal goal and has been supported by the commitment of our teachers and parents to ensure they reach their goal. There is much to celebrate today, well done everyone.

As a cohort, the average grade achieved by the students has increase by a full grade, and the percentage of students achieving higher grades has also increased significantly. A real achievement that shows the hard work of everyone at Churchdown and the support of our parent community.

With all the students’ achievements today, we see the story and challenges each child has faced and overcome in order to graduate from Churchdown so well. I wish all the students the best in their future and on such proud days such as these, we are all reminded of what we are about as a school: achieving success for all.
