NPQML at Churchdown School
Why choose NPQML at Churchdown?
Churchdown is proud to be an NPQML (National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership) delivery partner in conjunction with the SSAT. NPQML is a national qualification that provides outstanding training by strengthening understanding of the role of middle leadership and delivering practical strategies to ensure best practice in teaching and learning. NPQML gives participants opportunities for reflection and a shared forum for exploring how your vision of educational excellence can be translated into reality.
We offer dynamic training delivered by outstanding and experienced practitioners who operate a teacher-focused delivery style. The course is open to both primary and secondary phase colleagues.
Who is the course aimed at?
Those who are, or are aspiring to become, a middle leader with responsibility for leading a team e.g. a key stage leader, a curriculum area leader, a pastoral services leader, a subject leader, a special educational needs co-ordinator (SENCO), or a head of department.
This includes those who are, or are aspiring to be, a middle leader with cross-school responsibilities e.g. a Specialist Leader of Education (SLE).
What does the course involve?
Participants will complete the course over a maximum of 18 months. Participants receive face to face delivery of 12 leadership modules which are designed to support a wide range of leadership competencies. In addition participants will be able to access intersessional material and join other NPQML participants on the SSAT discussion forums.
In order to successfully pass the course candidates are required to submit a school based improvement project which focuses on impact on the students and impact on leading a team.
