Learning a language at Churchdown School is an enriching experience which equips students with a range of transferable life skills. By immersing themselves into the study of a language, students are provided with the opportunities to become culturally aware and curious. Foreign language learning provides students with ambition and it can open doors of opportunity in the future. This will enable students to, for example, gain entry to universities or to use their language skills as an asset to secure high calibre employment. The transferable skills which learning a language provides are varied and recognised by employers and universities. Languages widen students’ perspective of the world around them, for example by participating in trips abroad. Our focus is on communication through engaging lessons so that all students can enjoy being able to understand and appreciate other languages and cultures.
