Ofsted
We are all very happy to share our Ofsted report. The report recognises the many strengths we have as a strong community that enable the children of Churchdown to be successful. We are all very proud that the report highlights that ‘Pupils have high attendance. This reflects how well they thrive in school and the care that staff provide’.
We know that the Ofsted inspection is not a full stop on our school improvement journey. It is a moment to pause, reflect and check we are on the right path to even greater outcomes for the children. Pleasingly, during the inspection, there were no surprises for us and what was seen as significant strengths of the school are also recognised by us here and form part of a long-standing journey towards excellence. The area of development for our school (strengthen further the quality of teaching, so that all pupils, including post16 students, achieve highly) was also no surprise and was recognised by the Ofsted team as being well on its way to being an area of strength for the school. This is reflected in the feedback that reads: ‘Staff work effectively and with clarity to remove barriers to pupils’ attendance and achievement’.
We hope you enjoy the read.
A summary of the Ofsted outcome for all 7 areas inspected is below.

Ofsted deem ‘Strong Standard’ to mean that the leaders of this school are working above the standard expected of them and that ‘Expected Standard’ means we are meeting the professional standards expected from us.
Many thanks, Mr Potter.
