The school’s admission policy (see below) sets out the criteria for admission preferences in case of over-subscription. Admissions are organised county wide by the local authority, Gloucestershire County Council. Reminder of key dates:

APPEALS
Yr 6-7 transition appeals 2024-2025 transfer to Secondary school
Parents/Carers whose application has been unsuccessful have the right to appeal to an independent Appeals Panel. Appeals will be conducted in accordance with the Code of Practice for Schools Admissions Appeals. If you would like to appeal for a Year 7 place at Churchdown School for September 2024, please email school@churchdownschool.com for an appeal form. Please only do this once the 2nd round of allocations has been issued by the Local Authority (end of March).
- The deadline for returning the completed Notice of Appeal forms will be Friday 10th May 2024.
- The date for the year 7 appeal hearings will be the week beginning 10th June 2024.
- Parents will be informed of the hearing arrangements two weeks before.

Visiting the School – Open Evening and daytime tours
We know that you can only make an informed decision about a school if you see it in action on a normal school day.
Opening Evening Wednesday 18th September 2024
Our Open Evening is being held on Wednesday 18th September from 5.00pm to 8.00pm. The Headteacher presentations will take place at 5.30pm, 6.30pm and 7.30pm. Also included in the evening is a tour where you can get a feel for the school. We would advise you to arrive in good time as the evening is very popular with prospective parents.
Open days
Parents will have an opportunity to tour the school with the Headteacher each morning starting at 9am or 9.45am. These tours begin on Thursday 19th September and conclude on Tuesday 22nd October. The tour is an opportunity for you to see the school in action and have your questions answered by the Headteacher. In-Year Admissions
For late entrants i.e. all other admissions except for Sixth Form and entry into Year 7 in September, parents are advised to contact Mrs J Walsh, on 01452 713340 to check whether the school has vacancies for the relevant year and to arrange an interview and obtain an application form if there is a vacancy.
