Churchdown School Academy
The Governing Board has adopted the Circle Model of Governance where the full Board of Trustees meets 7 times a year and works collectively as a whole team.
Each member of the Board has a link role.
The Board is supported by a Finance Committee including Audit and Risk, Premises and Pay and Performance. The Board will establish a number of ad hoc panels including but not limited to Pay Appeals, Exclusions, Complaints, Discipline (staff) and Staff Appeals.
Role of the Board of Trustees
The Board has three strategic core functions:
1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
2. Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff.
3. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
The Board of Trustees recognises the following as a fourth core function of governance
